Agartala, 26th July 2025:   A public awareness march and road meeting against drug trafficking and abuse was held today in Bagmara Gram Panchayat and Ward No. 51 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, under the Suryamaninagar Mandal.

The event witnessed significant participation from local residents, social workers, youth, and prominent personalities, signaling a strong community stand against the growing menace of drugs.

Local MLA and Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Ram Prasad Paul, led the campaign and addressed the gathering during the road meeting.

“Today, people have taken to the streets against those who want to take Tripura back to the darkness of confusion, chaos and loot. This fight is not only for a political party. This fight is for an ideal, a fight to build a brave and honest society. Public awareness is the biggest tool in building a drug-free Tripura,” Paul said.

Highlighting the trust people have shown in the governance of the BJP-led administration, Paul stated, “The people are our strength. We have been moving forward and will continue to move forward relying on that strength. The participation of every citizen in this war will make our future stronger.”

He further emphasized the need for joint efforts by the administration and the public to root out drug abuse from the state and build a healthier, more responsible society.
