Dhalai police holds anti-drug awareness rally, discussion at Kamalpur

Agartala, 15th October 2025:  Anti-drug awareness rally and discussion was arranged by Dhalai district police at Kamalpur Town Hall here today.

Local people, students and cops participated in the rally. Then in the discussion the speakers discussed about different adverse socio – financial aspects of addiction and consumption of narcotics. They also discussed on different way outs to make the youth get rid of this fatal practice. The matter of increasing numbers of HIV positive cases also came into discussion.

During his speech, DIG Rati Ranjan Debnath disclosed that, in 2025 till now, drugs worth 50 crore rupees got seized by police in Dhalai district only. DIG Northern Range Rati Ranjan Debnath, SP Dhalai Mihir Lal Das, SDMO Kamalpur Dr. Subhasis De, and the Secretary of Kamalpur Press Club Supriyo Datta took part in discussion.

The awareness campaign infused a great amount of awareness and motivation among the  audience, according to the rank and file.
