Agartala, July 14, 2023: Despite the efforts of the proactive North District Superintendent of Police, the negligence of the Dharmanagar police station continues to raise concerns among the public. Another incident, involving the accused in the MDPS case, has come to light.

On Thursday, both Dharmanagar and Kadamtala police stations conducted raids under the NDPS section. During one of these operations, Dharmanagar police station successfully apprehended two ganja dealers carrying 30 kg of ganja late Thursday night at the railway station premises.

However, while bringing the suspects to the police station for questioning, one managed to escape from the grip of the police. Determined to rectify the situation, the police launched an immediate search operation throughout the night.

Eventually, in the early morning hours, Dharmanagar Police succeeded in apprehending one of the escaped individuals from the station premises, restoring their reputation.

The two individuals who were arrested are Dilkush Kumar and Niraj Kumar, interstate ganja smugglers hailing from Samsipur district in Bihar. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debashish Saha confirmed that they will be produced in court on Friday to face charges.

However, the repeated occurrences of such incidents have significantly diminished the trust of the common people in the Dharmanagar Police Station. It is evident that urgent measures must be taken to address the existing issues and prevent such occurrences from happening in the future.
