Agartala, 3rd April 2026: Dharmanagar witnessed a fiery political rally today as BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee launched a sharp attack on the opposition. At the outset of the event, Bhattacharjee raised a series of pointed questions, drawing attention to incidents of brutal killings in Dharmanagar and across the state, as well as alleged atrocities committed during the opposition’s tenure.
Speaking to journalists after the rally, Bhattacharjee asserted that the “Lotus” — the BJP’s symbol — is once again flourishing in Dharmanagar. He recalled his visit on the day BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty filed nomination papers, and said that the enthusiasm and zeal of party workers and supporters today clearly signaled that Dharmanagar is firmly aligned with the BJP. He went so far as to claim that the opposition would not be able to “open their account” in the constituency.
Adding a lighter note, Bhattacharjee revealed that a friendly competition has emerged among the town’s 55 polling booths. Residents are reportedly engaged in a spirited rivalry to see which booth can mobilize the highest voter turnout, creating what he described as a wave of joyful participation across Dharmanagar.
