Disaster preparedness drill conducted in Udaipur subdivision

Agartala, 4th June 2026:   In a bid to ensure swift and effective response during disaster situations, the Udaipur Sub-Division Administration organized a significant mock drill at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Representatives from multiple departments and agencies actively participated in the exercise, including the Fire Service, Health Department, Civil Defence, and Apda Mitra volunteers.

The drill focused on strategies for rescue and relief operations during sudden disasters or emergency wartime scenarios. Simulated situations were created to demonstrate practical methods of handling crises—covering rescue operations, medical treatment of the injured, evacuation to safe zones, and coordination among emergency service providers.

Speaking on the occasion, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tridip Sarkar emphasized the importance of preparedness: “In today’s time, we must always remain ready for any unforeseen situation. This drill was organized to enhance awareness and efficiency in responding quickly and in a coordinated manner during disasters or wartime emergencies.” He further noted that such exercises will help strengthen inter-departmental coordination and improve future preparedness.

The SDM expressed gratitude to all participating agencies and personnel for their active involvement. Local residents also praised the administration’s initiative, acknowledging it as a commendable step towards disaster readiness and community safety.
