Agartala, 18th March 2026:   Udaipur’s 53-year-old Nabarun Club has recently become the center of controversy following a dispute with a neighboring family. Club authorities alleged that some members of the family entered the club premises late at night and behaved indecently with women present there.

The club’s secretary stated that a CCTV camera had been installed at the back of the neighboring house, facing directly toward the club, which they objected to. Sitting beside homeowner Taramoni Das, the secretary noted that the family had long maintained cordial relations with the club. Das, a retired employee of the Social Welfare Department, has regularly participated in the club’s social and cultural programs.

The incident reportedly began when a child’s used diaper was left near the club boundary. This led to an argument between the family and club members, which escalated into allegations of indecent behavior.

Taramoni Das, however, said the club had always treated his family with respect and never caused them harm. He admitted that some visiting relatives had behaved inappropriately, which he regretted. He further alleged that after he protested the incident, his daughter-in-law forced him out of his home, and he has been unable to enter for the past three days.

Following the clash, the neighboring family lodged a complaint against Nabarun Club at the local police station. Das claimed he was not informed before the matter was taken to the police, which he believes damaged both his and the club’s reputation.

Observers suspect the incident may have been premeditated, given the sequence of events that took place that night.
