District-level training and TB Forum held at Gomati under National Health Mission

Agartala, 21st January 2026:   A significant district-level training and meeting under the Central Government’s National Health Mission and the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was held today at 1:30 pm in the PRTI Hall, Gokulpur, Udaipur subdivision.

Organized by the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Gomati, the program aimed at forming TB-free Panchayats. The event included training sessions for Panchayat members and a District TB Forum meeting.

Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, Saha-Sabhadhipati Sujan Kumar Sen, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumdar, Health and Education Standing Committee Chairperson Harekrishna Goswami, and District Panchayat Officer Aniruddha Bhattacharya were present. The program was presided over by Dr. Komal Reang, Chief Medical Officer of Gomati.

Addressing the gathering, Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy emphasized that eliminating tuberculosis requires active participation not only from the administration but also from elected representatives and the general public. He highlighted the crucial role of Panchayats in building a TB-free India and stressed the importance of raising social awareness.

Dr. Komal Reang, in his presidential remarks, outlined key aspects of TB prevention, early detection, treatment, and nutritional support. District TB Officer Dr. Soumik Chakraborty played a vital role in coordinating and conducting the program.

The event concluded with a collective call for unity among all stakeholders to work together towards the vision of a TB-free India.
