Agartala, August 19: A tumultuous domestic relationship took a violent turn when a husband confronted his wife’s alleged paramour, resulting in a bloody altercation. The injured husband, identified as Biswajit Mondal, is currently receiving treatment at GB Hospital in Agartala.
Biswajit Mondal, a resident of Teliamura sub-division employed at a local restaurant in the Amtali area, made startling allegations that his wife had been engaged in an extramarital affair with a man named Manju Ghosh, the owner of a residence in the Ranirbazar area, over the past two to three months.
On a fateful Sunday afternoon, Biswajit Mondal visited Manju Ghosh’s residence in Ranirbazar to confront him about the alleged illicit relationship with his wife. The confrontation quickly escalated, resulting in a violent clash. During the altercation, Manju Ghosh reportedly used a knife and inflicted severe injuries on Biswajit, leaving him in a critical condition.
In response to the incident, Sub-Inspector Pradeep Tripura of the Ranirbazar Police Station disclosed that locals had come to the aid of Biswajit Mondal, who was found in a grievously injured state. He was promptly transported to Rani Bazar Hospital, where the authorities were alerted. Given the gravity of his injuries, Biswajit was subsequently transferred to GB Hospital for specialized medical attention. The family members of Biswajit Mondal have been informed of the situation.
The incident has caused considerable commotion in the Ranirbazar area. Authorities are currently evaluating whether to take legal action against the accused, restaurant owner Manju Ghosh, as they continue to investigate the matter.
