Agartala, 18th April 2026: Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital’s Dr. Mrinal Debbarma will be awarded the prestigious gold medal in Medical Gastroenterology at the 23rd convocation of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The announcement was made today by NBEMS, with the ceremony scheduled for May 23 in New Delhi.
Dr. Debbarma achieved remarkable success in the 2024 DrNB examinations conducted by NBEMS, earning him consideration for the distinguished Dr. S.K. Sama Gold Medal. He received advanced training at Apollo Hospital, Guwahati, Assam, further strengthening his expertise in gastroenterology.
Before specializing in gastroenterology, Dr. Debbarma completed his MD in Medicine at Agartala Government Medical College under the guidance of Dr. Atanu Ghosh and Dr. Arunava Dasgupta. His academic and professional achievements highlight both his personal dedication and the growing strength of Tripura’s medical education system.
