Drunken sub-inspector arrested for misconduct in Teliamura

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, November 13: A sub-inspector of Teliamura police station Ramakrishna Das was arrested on Monday for his drunken and disorderly behaviour in Teliamura. He was accused of creating nuisance and harassing the local people while on duty. He has been booked under Section 90 of the Tripura Police Act and an investigation has been initiated against him.

According to the sources, Das has been involved in many such incidents in the past, but he was spared from any action due to his close ties with the officer-in-charge of the police station. He was also alleged to have assaulted some people during the Durga Puja festival last year, but no complaint was lodged against him. However, this time, his antics went too far and he was caught red-handed by the police personnel of the same police station, who were fed up with his antics.

The locals have expressed their anger and resentment over Das’ behaviour and have demanded strict action against him. They have also questioned the role of the higher authorities of the state police, who have turned a blind eye to his misconduct. They have said that Das has brought shame and disgrace to the police force and has violated the law and order.

Das is currently in police custody and is being interrogated. The police have said that they will not spare anyone who is found guilty of breaking the law and tarnishing the image of the police. They have also said that they will take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening again.
