Agartala, 13th September 2025:   A disturbing act of vandalism has rocked Rangutia village, where several Durga idols were found damaged late last night at Kalibazar just days before the grand Durga Puja celebrations were set to begin.

Local sources informed that multiple youth clubs and community organizations had come together this year to host an elaborate Durga Puja. Preparations were nearing completion, with pandals almost ready and the idols in their final stages of decoration. However, the festive spirit was shattered when unidentified miscreants reportedly broke into the site and defaced four idols damaging faces, hands and other parts.

The incident triggered widespread tension across the village, with residents expressing shock and outrage. Local police and administrative officials arrived at the scene promptly and have launched an investigation into the matter.

Authorities have assured the public that security will be heightened in the area, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible. Meanwhile, organizers are scrambling to repair the damage and restore the idols in time for the upcoming celebrations.
