DYFI submits five-point demand to Khowai SDM

Date:

Agartala, 2nd May 2026:   The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Khowai Divisional Committee, has submitted a deputation to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Khowai, pressing for immediate withdrawal of the unplanned hike in vehicle fares and urgent repair of the national highway, among other public-interest demands.

Locals have expressed strong resentment over the sudden increase in transport fares, which they say has severely affected daily commuters. At the same time, the prolonged dilapidated condition of the national highway has caused immense hardship for passengers and drivers alike.

In response to these grievances, DYFI leaders raised a five-point charter of demands, urging swift administrative intervention. They warned that failure to address these issues could compel the organization to launch a larger mass movement in the coming days.

After submitting the memorandum, DYFI representatives appealed to the administration for prompt action to alleviate the suffering of the public and ensure accountability in addressing civic concerns.
