Agartala, 24th January 2024: The police of East Agartala police station arrested two bike thieves from the vicinity of Lake Chowmuhani and Modern Club on Wednesday, following a tip-off. The duo was allegedly involved in a series of bike thefts in the city.
According to East Agartala Police Station OC Rana Chatterjee, a case of bike theft was registered at his station last week. He said that the police had received several complaints of bike thefts from different areas in the past few days. Based on these complaints, the police launched an investigation and conducted raids at various locations.
He said that the two arrested suspects were the main members of a gang of bike thieves operating in the city. He added that the police hoped to get more information about the gang and recover the stolen bikes after interrogating them.
