East Agartala police retrieve stolen materials, provide relief to victims and culprits held

Agartala, August 20: A wave of thievery has left the city’s residents in distress as a group of audacious youths continues to commit thefts for financial gain, resulting in a worrisome surge in criminal activity over the past few months. However, the vigilant efforts of the East Agartala police station staff have led to the recent recovery of stolen goods, bringing some respite to the victims.

In a commendable operation, the East Agartala police have managed to seize stolen property that includes 4 motorcycles, 4 mobile phones, 2 laptops, 2 gas cylinders, 1 water pump, and a sum of Rs 17,000 in cash. These valuable items were promptly returned to their rightful owners by the East Agartala Police Station.

A police official reported that the city had experienced a notable uptick in theft cases in recent months. Typically, after receiving a complaint at the police station, investigators have successfully recovered stolen cash and various items under scrutiny. Subsequently, in accordance with court directives, these items have been returned to their rightful owners. This diligent effort has garnered gratitude from 14 relieved victims who expressed their appreciation to the police for the recovery of their stolen possessions.

Assuring the public, the police official affirmed that such operations would persist in the days ahead. Furthermore, he disclosed that all individuals involved in the thefts, linked to the recovered items, have been apprehended and are currently in custody, ensuring that justice is served and the city’s streets become safer once again.
