Agartala, 1st April 2025: Melaghar police station staff has arrested five individuals in connection with a robbery incident that took place on the occasion of Eid. The incident took place yesterday in the Panch Murti area, where several robbers targeted a car carrying Muslim men and women celebrating Eid. The attackers reportedly attempted to seize cash and gold ornaments from the passengers.
Acting swiftly on the report, the Melaghar police arrested five suspects late last night. While several individuals were reportedly involved in the crime, authorities are optimistic about capturing the remaining perpetrators through rigorous interrogation.
A case has been registered under relevant sections, and an intensive investigation is underway. Meanwhile, locality members have called for strict and exemplary punishment for those responsible for this brazen act.
