Eight Factory-Made Pistols, 16 Magazines Seized at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala, 8TH May 2025:   In a significant security alert, eight factory-made pistols and 16 empty magazines were recovered from two unclaimed bags at Agartala Railway Station on Thursday.

The discovery was made by personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) during a routine inspection.

The arms were found inside the general coach of Train No. 14620, which had arrived from Firozpur. According to RPF Assistant Commandant BK Sinha, two RPF personnel on duty noticed the suspicious bags around 8:00 AM, hours after the train reached the station at approximately 4:30 AM.”The bags were lying unclaimed in a general compartment. Our personnel immediately alerted the RPF control room and the GRP. A joint team reached the spot and, upon inspection, recovered eight factory-made pistols and 16 empty magazines from the bags. No ammunition was found,” Sinha said.

Tapas Das, Officer-in-Charge of the GRP, said the bags also contained clothing, medicines, and personal belongings. “We have registered a case against unknown individuals and launched a full-scale investigation,” he said.
