Agartala, 8TH May 2025: Dr. V. Narayan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Secretary of the Department of Space, Government of India, is expected to arrive in Tripura to attend the fifth convocation ceremony of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), scheduled for May 11.
The announcement was made by Professor A.B. Patil, Dean of the College of Fisheries, during a press conference held on the university campus.
Dr. Narayan will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony will also be attended by CAU Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Joshi and Vice Chancellor Dr. Anupam Mishra.
Speaking to the media, Prof. Patil highlighted the importance of the event, noting that CAU currently operates 13 constituent colleges across six northeastern states — Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura — with a combined student strength of over 3,000.
As part of the convocation celebrations, a business meet is scheduled for May 9, featuring 26 selected students from the 13 colleges. A cultural evening showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of the Northeast will follow on May 10.
