Eight injured in head-on collision at Baramura

Agartala, 29th January 2026:   At least eight people were injured in a severe road accident at Sadhupara in Baramura today. The collision took place when a Bolero vehicle and a Maruti van crashed head-on, leaving the van’s driver critically injured.

Locals said that both vehicles were speeding when they collided, causing the Maruti van to crumple completely. The force of the impact trapped the driver and passengers inside the vehicle. Traffic movement in the area was disrupted for some time following the accident.

Fire service personnel and police rushed to the spot after receiving information. With the help of local residents, the injured were rescued from the mangled van and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Hospital sources reported that several of the victims are in critical condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the cause of the collision.
