Agartala, 29th May 2026: The Tripura government has finalized all preparations for the re-conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination, which is scheduled to take place on June 21 across the state. The Higher Education Department, in collaboration with the National Testing Agency (NTA), district administrations, Tripura Police and other allied agencies, has put in place elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth, secure and transparent examination process.
In a press statement issued on Friday, Secretary of the Higher Education Department and State Nodal Officer for NEET (UG) 2026, Raval Hemendra Kumar, said the state has established a robust coordination and monitoring framework in accordance with NTA guidelines. To oversee all aspects of the examination, both the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) and District Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs) have been constituted.
Kumar informed that nearly 4,700 candidates are expected to appear for the examination in Tripura, with around 4,500 candidates from West Tripura district and approximately 200 from Dhalai district. Ten examination centres have been designated for the test, including nine in West Tripura and one in Dhalai.
To maintain the integrity of the examination, stringent security measures have been arranged at all centres. These include deployment of police personnel, multiple levels of frisking, CCTV surveillance, jammers, secure transportation of confidential materials, and close monitoring by NTA-appointed observers and flying squads.
The Secretary also stated that dedicated nodal officers have been assigned to every examination centre to facilitate coordination among district authorities, police, NIC officials, centre superintendents and NTA representatives.
He urged candidates to report to their centres well before the scheduled time and adhere strictly to NTA guidelines, while appealing to guardians to cooperate with authorities and avoid gathering near examination venues. Kumar reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent and credible conduct of NEET (UG) 2026.
