Agartala, 4th February 2025 : A devastating fire broke out in the Chandrapur area of Dharmanagar city resulting in the tragic loss of eleven livestock. The incident has ignited intense anger and outrage among the residents of the area.
The fire took place in the evening claimed the lives of eight goats and three cows belonging to Dipali Dhar. Dhar, who lives alone, recounted the harrowing experience: “I was inside the house when I suddenly heard the goats crying out. I rushed outside and saw the house where the livestock were kept engulfed in flames. Despite my desperate efforts, I couldn’t save them.”
She added, “One cow managed to escape, but the rest were burnt to ashes. I believe someone set fire to my house out of enmity. The fire spread all around the house, making it impossible to save the livestock.”
The intense heat of the fire left both Dhar and the suspected arsonist badly injured. Residents in the area expressed their fury over the attack and demanded a thorough investigation. “This is a deliberate act of cruelty. We want the authorities to find the culprit and bring them to justice,” said a local resident.
Although a fire engine arrived at the scene, the blaze had already caused irreparable damage. The fire department’s efforts to control the fire were in vain. The incident has left the community reeling, with many calling for government assistance to support Dhar in her time of need.
The locality demanded justice saying: “We are outraged by this senseless act. We urge the authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and provide the necessary support to Dhar.”
The residents of Chandrapur are united in their call for swift action and justice for Dipali Dhar and her lost livestock.
