Agartala, 30th January 2024: Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma today said that voting for CPIM and Congress means wasting of vote as they always create confusion among people for their own personal benefits.
Dev Varma made the following statements while leading a significant joining program in the Charilam Assembly Constituency on Tuesday, where 308 voters from 73 families switched allegiance to the BJP, departing from the CPIM and Congress.
“As elections approach, confusion tends to arise among the people. They claimed to have already formed the government, but where are they now? CPIM and Congress joined forces, and what happened? CPIM declined from 16 to 10, and Congress won 3 seats. The BJP is confident that the party will form the government because we focus on the people and genuine development. Our party avoids engaging in futile discussions that create confusion. We understand how to work for the people. Voting for Congress and CPIM means wasting your vote. They specialize in confusing people with false promises and rhetoric,” remarked Dev Varma.
He pointed out that the Congress candidate in Charilam received approximately 9600 votes, but after the election, he disappeared. “Where is he now? These 9600 people trusted him. Where is the MLA? Despite being elected by the people, he is nowhere to be found,” Varma stated.
Jishnu highlighted the dire conditions of Charilam before 2018, with no streets and no lights. However, he emphasized the development in the assembly now.
“In the BJP, we don’t consider religion or caste; we work for everyone. We have Hindu, Muslim, Christian, and Buddhist MLAs too. It’s already decided that the BJP will form the government again in the upcoming Lok Sabha under the leadership of PM Modi. As Rahul Gandhi campaigns more, their governments continue to fall. In Bihar, they also joined the NDA. Our primary goal is to present two lotuses to PM Modi as a gesture of our gratitude for the many things we have received from him. This is our responsibility,” he added.
