Agartala, 28th February 2024 :   In a shocking incident, Yasin Mia, a local farmer from the border village NC Nagar, was reportedly seriously injured in an alleged attack by BSF jawans from the 43 Battalion stationed in the area. The incident unfolded as Yasin Mia was returning home after picking vegetables, a routine activity for the farmer.

According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation occurred when BSF jawans allegedly attacked Yasin Mia without provocation. The situation escalated when Yasin Mia’s wife, Fatema Begum, rushed to the scene upon hearing her husband’s screams. Shockingly, it is claimed that she too was guarded by the BSF jawans, preventing her from intervening.

Local residents, alerted by the commotion, quickly gathered at the scene and managed to rescue Yasin Mia from the clutches of the BSF. He was promptly taken to Sonamura Primary Health Centre for initial treatment, where the attending doctor subsequently transferred him to GB for further medical attention.

A formal complaint has been lodged at the Sonamura police station on behalf of the injured farmer, demanding a thorough investigation into the incident. The community is expressing deep anger and concern over the alleged unprovoked attack by BSF personnel.

The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with residents demanding justice for Yasin Mia and calling for accountability from the BSF. Local authorities are urged to conduct a swift and impartial investigation into the matter to ascertain the facts and take appropriate action against those responsible.
