Agartala, 30th January 2024: A father of a schoolgirl was kidnapped by unknown miscreants while he was dropping his daughter to Monfort School at Ranirkhamar in the outskirts of capital city on Tuesday morning.
The kidnappers later called his wife from a different number and demanded Rs 50 thousand as ransom for his release.
The victim has been identified as Subhajit Sutradhar, a resident of Dukli Ichabazar Kabortila under Amtali police station. His wife said that he suddenly went missing after he left his car near the school gate.
She received a call from the kidnappers around 10 am, who threatened to harm him if she did not pay the ransom.
She immediately informed her relatives and rushed to Amtali police station, where she lodged a written complaint.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the whereabouts of the abducted man and nab the culprits.
