Agartala, 12th February 2024 :   In a dramatic incident reminiscent of a film sequence, two bikes collided in a head-on collision on Monday afternoon, resulting in five people sustaining injuries. The mishap occurred at the Babul Choumuhani area on the Agartala-Bishalgarh road, highlighting the absence of traffic control in front of Tripura University.

The collision involved a Pulsar bike with the registration number TR-01AJ-8195, traveling from Agartala to Bishalgarh, and a Glamor bike with the number TR-07A-7536 heading towards Agartala. The impact caused both bikes to crash, resulting in four individuals, including the two bikers, falling onto the road and sustaining injuries. Additionally, an unfortunate pedestrian was hit by a bike that lost control during the incident.

The severity of the accident left three of the injured individuals in critical condition. Prompt response from firefighters, who were notified of the incident, led to the rescue of the injured. Witnesses at the scene played a crucial role in saving three individuals in critical condition before the arrival of the fire brigade.

All five injured persons were swiftly transported to Tripura Medical College, where they are currently receiving medical attention. The injured include both bikers and the pedestrian who was struck during the collision. The incident has sparked concern and raised questions about the need for improved traffic control measures, particularly in the vicinity of Tripura University.

Local authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the collision, and residents in the area are calling for increased safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of traffic regulations and control in busy intersections to ensure the safety of commuters.
