Agartala, 24th February 2025:   Emphasizing the transformative potential of financial literacy for women, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the Financial Literacy Week 2025 celebration in Agartala on Monday. The event was organized by the Agartala branch of the Reserve Bank of India, took place at 5-star hotel here and focused on the theme “Financial Literacy-Enriched Women.”

Governor NAllu highlighted the importance of financial literacy, particularly in regions with geographical challenges. “Financial literacy of women can bring about a radical change in families and society,” he remarked. “Women will be able to easily avail the benefits of government schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and PM Ujjwala Yojana. Such events will help in bridging the gap in financial literacy and empower women with the necessary skills to manage their own finances.”

Governor Nallu stressed that women’s financial empowerment extends beyond personal progress and plays a crucial role in nation-building, economic growth, and creating a self-reliant society. “Women’s financial empowerment is not just about personal progress; it also plays a key role in nation-building, economic growth, and building a self-reliant society. Women need to strengthen their financial future, participate in the financial management of their families, and become partners in building a strong society and nation.”

He also praised women’s achievements in business and entrepreneurship, noting their leadership abilities in various fields. “Women have set an example of success in business and entrepreneurship. They have proven their leadership ability not only in the financial field but also in social movements and culture,” the Governor said. “Despite this, their participation in the economy will increase further with awareness about financial literacy, especially digital banking, online payments, and government subsidies.”

Governor Nallu called upon everyone to support the empowerment of women through financial literacy, recognizing their pivotal role in preserving culture, values, and customs, and their significant contributions in the political arena. “Women are the most reliable service providers of the family and the bearers of culture, values, and customs. They play an important role in the political field and are equally participating in shaping the future of the country.”
