Agartala, 1st March 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) concluded its Financial Literacy Week-2024 with a closing ceremony at Hotel Polo Tower in Agartala on Friday. The Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, was the chief guest of the event and delivered a speech on the importance of financial awareness and consumer protection.
He said that people of all age groups should be well-informed about various financial transactions and their rights and responsibilities. He added that financial literacy can help people safeguard their money and avoid frauds and scams. He also appreciated the RBI’s initiative and hoped that it would benefit the public.
The closing ceremony was also attended by RBI Agartala’s Chief General Manager Yashwant Singh Sahota, who gave the welcome address, Deputy General Manager Sudip Bhatta Acharya, who spoke on the theme of the week, and Manoj K Kulkarni, who proposed the vote of thanks. Earlier in the day, a walkathon was organized by the RBI, in which students from different colleges participated. The Financial Literacy Week-2024 was aimed at creating awareness about various financial products and services among the masses.
