Agartala, 12th January 2026: A fire broke out at the Dasharathbari Anganwadi Center under Melaghar, completely destroying the interior of the building in broad daylight.

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The blaze reduced various furniture items and important documents inside the center to ashes.

Local residents were the first to notice the fire and attempted to control it, but they were unable to save the furniture and essential papers inside the center. Later, the Melaghar Fire Service team arrived and successfully extinguished the flames.

The fire had spread rapidly, and its intensity was so high that it even reached the tin roof of the building. No casualties were reported in the incident.
