Fire engulfs house in South Sonaichari, owner suffers huge loss

Agartala, February 16:  A massive fire broke out in a residential house in South Sonaichari area under Belonia police station on Friday morning, leaving the owner and his family in distress. The fire, which was suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit, reduced the house and its belongings to ashes.

According to Swapan Das, the owner of the house, the fire started around 10:40 AM and soon spread to the entire house. He and his family members tried to douse the flames, but failed to control the inferno. He then called the fire brigade for help.

However, by the time the fire engines reached the spot, the fire had already engulfed the house and damaged most of the items inside. The fire brigade personnel had to work hard for a long time to extinguish the fire completely.

Swapan Das said that he had lost more than Rs 35 lakh worth of property in the fire incident. He appealed to the authorities to provide him with some relief and compensation. He also thanked the fire brigade for their timely intervention and efforts.
