Fire ravages rubber storage unit Home at Fatikroy’s Gokulnagar Panchayat

Date:

Agartala, 14th April 2026:   Panic gripped Gokulnagar village under Fatikroy Panchayat today after a devastating fire broke out at the home of local resident Bipul Malakar in Ward No. 5.

Locals said that the blaze originated in a rubber storage unit attached to the house. Within minutes, flames engulfed the warehouse, reducing more than four quintals of stored rubber to ashes.

Despite desperate efforts by villagers to douse the fire, it quickly spread beyond control. Fire services from Kumarghat and Kanchanbari were alerted, but by the time engines arrived, the warehouse had already been completely destroyed.

The incident drew large crowds from the locality, including Panchayat chief Binarani Das, who met the affected family and assured them of support.

Reports suggest that Malakar’s family is in severe financial distress, and the fire has caused extensive losses. The family has appealed to the government for urgent financial assistance.

While the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, preliminary suspicion points to a possible short circuit. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area.
