Agartala, 24 June, 2023: A mock drill on fire safety and rescue operation was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya Kunjaban on Friday last. The fire rescue team was led by Pradip Kumar Das, station officer of New Capital Complex fire station along with seven fire station staff including the Sub-officer, driver and five firemen.
The mock drill started at 10 am in the school ground demonstrating the various ways to control the spread of fire caused by electricity, oil and gas. The team also showed the rescue operation of fire victims using ladder and stretcher. The fire brigade, fire ambulance and fire extinguishers were used to put off fire and rush the victims to hospital.
The mock drill continued for an hour creating awareness among students about fire safety rules and rescue operations during such mishaps before the fire brigade reaches the spot.
The mock drill ended successfully with the live demonstration of fire spread caused by gas cylinder leakage, which was extinguished by the Principal, teachers and students.
The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Dipankar Ray and senior teacher Raka Chakrabarty thanked the station officer and his team for choosing the school for their very useful and informative mock drill in the Vidyalaya.
