Fisheries Minister reviews sector development, directs to complete work on time

Agartala, 2nd June 2026:   Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das has directed officials to expedite the completion of all assigned works and ensure proper execution of approved schemes aimed at strengthening the fisheries sector in the state.

The Minister gave these instructions while chairing the 2nd Board Meeting of the Tripura Fisheries Development Board, which was held at his office chamber in the State Secretariat.

During the meeting, he carried out a detailed review of ongoing programmes and various development initiatives being implemented in the fisheries sector. He emphasized the need for strict adherence to timelines and effective delivery of projects to achieve intended developmental goals.

Das reiterated that all stakeholders must work in coordination to ensure timely completion of projects and smooth implementation of sanctioned works for the overall growth of the fisheries sector in Tripura.

The meeting was attended by Board members, including senior officials such as the Secretary and Director of the Fisheries Department, along with representatives from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Fisheries College Lembucherra, Tripura University, and NABARD.
