Five injured including infant in tomtom accident at Ghilatali

Agartala, 12th January 2026:  Five people, including a one-year-old girl, were injured in a tomtom accident at Ghilatali under Kalyanpur police station this afternoon.

Police sources informed that the incident took place when the tomtom overturned due to the driver’s negligence while returning from the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office. The vehicle was traveling along the Teliamura–Ghilatali road towards Adunia when the driver suddenly lost control, causing the tomtom to flip. The driver sustained head injuries, with two stitches required.

The injured have been identified as: Rupina Debbarma (22), Chinta Rani Debbarma (55), Aika Debbarma (1), Prakash Debbarma (29, driver), and Vishal Debbarma (19).

All victims were rushed to Kalyanpur Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Their residences fall under Kalyanpur police station jurisdiction.

News of the accident quickly spread in the locality, sparking concern among residents. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
