Five Tripura Police Personnel Named for Meritorious Service Medals

Agartala, 14th August 2026 :  Five members of the Tripura Police have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) as part of the Independence Day 2026 honours, acknowledging their exemplary dedication and long-standing service.

The Ministry has announced Gallantry and Service Medals for 1,057 personnel belonging to the Police, Fire Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, and Correctional Services across India.

Among the awards, 92 personnel have been chosen for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), while 664 personnel have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).

Of the MSM awards, 606 are for police personnel, 28 for Fire Service personnel, 18 for Civil Defence & Home Guard personnel and 12 for Correctional Service personnel.

Representing Tripura, the five police personnel selected for the MSM are Amitabha Pal, Superintendent of Police; Sishu Ranjan Chowdhury, Havildar; Sanjib Patra, Subedar; Md Maharam Ali, Naik; and Mrinal Debbarma, Constable.

The honour marks a proud moment for the Tripura Police and recognises the awardees for their commitment, professionalism and meritorious contribution to public service.

The selection also highlights the dedication of police personnel who continue to serve with distinction in maintaining law and order and safeguarding the interests of citizens.
