Flooded road at Gouranagar leaves residents stranded

Date:

Agartala, 27th May 2026:   Daily life has come to a standstill in Gouranagar RD Block’s Srinathpur Gram Panchayat, Ward No. 5, as the main road connecting Yubarajnagar to Srinathpur Secondary School has gone completely under water.

Local residents say the situation has become unbearable, especially during the monsoon. Despite repeated complaints to the Panchayat, PWD, Sub-Divisional and District Administration, no permanent solution has been implemented.

The worst affected are school-going children, families transporting sick patients, and villagers heading out for essential work. Residents allege that in the past 25 years, no effective steps have been taken to improve the road, regardless of changes in government.

Frustration is mounting as villagers demand immediate repair and a long-term solution. They have urged the administration to intervene without delay to restore connectivity and ease the suffering of the people.
