Agartala, July 20, 2023: A food safety team led by Gandacherra Sub-Divisional Food Controller Taruni Sen Tripura and Gandacherra police conducted a raid in Gandacherra market. The raid was in response to extensive complaints against a water factory in Narayanpur village.

The factory has been accused of various irregularities, prompting the authorities to extend the operation to sweet shops, hotels, restaurants, fish vendors, and ice cream factories in Gandacherra market.

During the raid, samples of food items were collected for further examination by the administrative team. Additionally, several shops were found without valid food safety licenses, leading to strict warnings and instructions to obtain the necessary licenses promptly.

Furthermore, any expired food items and illegal substances found among the shops were disposed of properly in the designated bins. The shop owners were cautioned against selling expired and unauthorized products. Moreover, small business owners were reminded to use white paper for transactions.

Officials stated that such operations will continue regularly to ensure the safety and quality of food items available in the market.
