Agartala, 13th September 2024: A few years back, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the National Forensic Science University at Kantajala area of South Anandnagar in the outskirts of Agartala city. This event once brought immense joy and hope to the local residents has now turned into a source of frustration and anger. The foundation stone, which was expected to mark the beginning of a significant development, now lies neglected and covered by forest growth.
Despite the initial excitement and anticipation, the construction of the National Forensic Science University has not yet commenced. The delay has left the local community disheartened and confused. Residents, who once envisioned rapid development and progress for their area, are now grappling with the reality that years have passed without any visible progress.
On Friday, the simmering discontent boiled over as residents took to the streets in protest. Armed with placards, they demanded the immediate commencement of construction for the National Forensic Science University. The protest highlighted the community’s growing impatience and concern over the unexplained delay.
One resident expressed the collective sentiment, saying, “We were so happy when we heard that the university would be built here. We thought it would bring development and opportunities. But now, it feels like a broken promise.”
The residents are left wondering if the government has shifted its plans to build the university elsewhere. The lack of communication and transparency has only fueled their frustration. As the community awaits a response, the question remains: Will the government address the demands of the locals and fulfill the promise of the National Forensic Science University?
