Agartala, 12th February 2026: Minister and MLA of Jolaibari assembly constituency Sukla Charan Noatia today laid the foundation stone for a new two storey building at West Pilak Higher Secondary School under the Jolaibari assembly constituency.
The ceremony was attended by Jolaibari Block BAC Chairman Ashok Mog, Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapas Dutta, South District Committee member Shambhu Manik, Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Keshab Choudhury, members of the school management committee, teachers, and parents.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Noatia emphasized that the state government’s primary goal is to ensure equal access to education in both hill and plain regions. He stated that the government is committed to building modern infrastructure in remote villages without discrimination.
The new building, estimated at a cost of ₹9 crore, will provide modern classrooms, improved teaching facilities, and essential amenities for students once completed. The minister expressed confidence that this project would significantly enhance the learning environment.
He also noted that during the previous Left regime, many schools suffered from inadequate infrastructure, including shortages of classrooms and drinking water. The current government, he said, has been working consistently to bridge these gaps.
Highlighting the pace of development since the political change in Jolaibari constituency, Noatia pointed out that progress has been made in education, roads, and healthcare, and assured that such initiatives will continue in the future.
The event concluded with cultural performances by students, who welcomed the guests with songs and dances. Local residents expressed joy and enthusiasm over the upcoming construction, seeing it as a step forward for the community’s educational growth.
