Agartala: May 04. Tripura Police today afternoon detained four suspected Bangladeshi nationals from Nutan Bazar area under Gomati district of the state. Police have also detained two Indian citizens along with them who were supposed to help them in crossing the international boundary.
Source said that the police of Nutan Bazar police station in Gomati district has arrested a total of six suspected Bangladeshi national at around seven in the morning when they were found roaming suspiciously in Mandir Ghat area a tourist destination near Bangladesh border. When police detained them, they have found inconsistencies in their conversation. Later, the police took the detained all of them and bring them to police station for questioning.
Through interrogation, it is known that the Bangladeshi nationals have come to Agartala by train from other state. “They contacted a broker named Babul Das over phone and informed that they have come to Tripura. The Bangladeshi nationals have left Agartala railway station for Tirthamukh Mandir Ghat around four o’clock in the morning on Thursday after booking a car through that broker”, said police. Finally, the police managed to detain all the four Bangladeshi nationals identified as Zikur Rahman, Kamal Hossain, Mohammad Saker and Rehmina Begum. The Indian citizens were identified as Babul Das and Biplab Dey.
