Six held with drugs worth Rs 2.50 lakh in state

Agartala: May 04. Tripura Police today arrested five persons and seized contraband items worth Rs 2.50 lakh from different locations in the state.

SDPO Sadar have said that they have arrested four persons along with brown sugar worth Rs 1.50 lakh.

“Based on a tip we have conducted a raid in a house in the Dhaleswar area in Agartala. The owner Bikas Chakraborty lives in Kolkata and some youths lived there as tenants. So we have received the information that the youth sells drugs. Based on this we carried out the raid and seized a huge cache of brown sugar, and other necessary items to sell this contraband”, said Sadar Sub-division Police Officer, Asish Dasgupta.

The arrested four youths were identified as Naresh Debbarma, Rohit Debbarma, Rahul Debbarma and Biku Debbarma.

In AD Nagar Police arrested another person identified as Krishna Debnath and seized brown sugar and Yaba tablets worth Rs 1 lakh.
