Four house gutted in fire at Kamalpur

 Agartala, December 28:   In a devastating incident that unfolded last night in the vicinity of Manik Bhandar Bazar near Kamalpur police station, panic gripped the residents as four houses succumbed to a fierce blaze. The fire, believed to have originated from an electrical short circuit, left a trail of destruction before the timely intervention of the fire brigade.

The fire brigade promptly responded to distress calls and raced to the scene, battling the flames in a valiant effort to bring the situation under control. After a prolonged struggle, the firefighters managed to extinguish the raging inferno, preventing further escalation of the catastrophe. Rajib Ghosh, the owner of the affected houses, expressed his shock and grief over the loss. Ghosh, who was not present at the time of the incident, received the distressing news from family members, prompting him to rush home at the break of dawn.

Recounting the nightmarish ordeal, he revealed that all four of his houses were reduced to ashes, with the inferno consuming everything in its path. “The extent of the damage caused by the fire is staggering. The estimated loss surpasses a whopping 1 crore rupees,” he said. The tragic incident has not only left a significant financial burden on Ghosh but has also shattered the lives of those residing in the now-charred properties.
