Agartala, 25th November 2024: Four individuals including Sanjay Debbarma, brother of former BAC chairman of Charilam Block Rajib Debbarma were seriously injured in a collision between a bike and a scooty on Monday afternoon. The accident took place on National Highway No. 8 in front of the Bajaj showroom near Bishramganj Bazar.
The crash involved a bike with the registration number TR07H-7180 and a scooty ridden by a Bajaj showroom staff member. The collision caused three people and the scooty driver to be thrown onto the road. Two of the victims sustained head injuries, while the other two suffered injuries to their hands and chest. Eyewitnesses immediately notified the Bishramganj fire brigade, who quickly arrived and transported the injured to Bishramganj Primary Health Center.
The injured were identified as Sanjay Debbarma (31), Edison Debbarma (27), Kharang Debbarma (27), and Lalu Prasad Debbarma, (25), all residents of Bishramganj and Jagaibari areas.
Despite efforts by the Bishramganj police and traffic authorities to control vehicle accidents, locals claim the incidents are increasing at an alarming rate. While the bike was found at the scene, the police are yet to locate the scooter involved in the accident.’’
