Agartala, 14th January 2025: A head-on collision between a scooty and a three-wheeled freight vehicle left four people injured, including a woman, on the main road near Pachamar Ghat. The incident occurred due to the alleged carelessness of the freight car driver, who was traveling from Sonamura Battali Mela to Melaghar.
According to eyewitnesses, the scooty driver and two passengers were en route to the fair when the accident occurred. The collision took place on a road adjacent to Mar Ghat, leaving the scooty driver and two passengers with severe injuries. The driver of the freight vehicle also sustained injuries in the accident.
Upon receiving information, personnel from the local fire department rushed to the spot and promptly transported the injured to Melaghar Subdistrict Hospital for treatment.
The frequent accidents on the Sonamura to Melaghar road have left residents alarmed. Many attribute these incidents to reckless driving and poor road conditions, calling for stricter traffic regulations and improved infrastructure to prevent such mishaps.
