Agartala, 16th April 2026: A remarkable story of rural empowerment has emerged from Lakhindra Para under Sikaribari Village Committee in Tripura, where Ati Rung Reang, a woman from the Reang community, has successfully transformed her livelihood through the TRIPTI Project implemented by the Tripura Rural Livelihoods Mission (TRLM).
In 2024, Ati received four goats under the TRIPTI initiative, which aims to strengthen rural livelihoods by providing both assets and skill-based training. Already owning a small flock, she utilized the opportunity to expand her efforts with renewed confidence.

Through structured training on scientific goat rearing, fodder management, and animal healthcare, Ati adopted improved practices that significantly boosted productivity. Her dedication and careful management paid off, as her herd grew from four goats to sixteen within a short span, including healthy adult goats and young kids.
“The project gave me knowledge and confidence,” Ati shared, highlighting how the intervention changed her approach to livestock rearing.
Today, income generated from the sale of goats has become a steady source of livelihood for her family. It is not only meeting household needs but also supporting her children’s education and enabling her to build savings for the future.
Ati’s success has also created a ripple effect in her village. She actively shares her knowledge and experiences with other women in Lakhindra Para, encouraging them to adopt scientific methods and become self-reliant.
Her journey stands as a testament to the impact of the TRIPTI model, which combines asset distribution with capacity building. By more than tripling her livestock assets, Ati has demonstrated how targeted interventions can lead to sustainable rural development and long-term economic empowerment.
Officials from TRLM noted that such success stories highlight the effectiveness of the programme in uplifting rural communities, especially women, across Tripura.
