Agartala, 25th May 2026: Fuel prices continued to rise across the country as petrol and diesel rates were increased once again on Monday, marking the fourth hike in less than two weeks.
In New Delhi, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 2.61 per litre, while diesel became costlier by Rs 2.71 per litre. Following the latest revision, petrol is now being sold at Rs 102.12 per litre in the national capital, while diesel is priced at Rs 95.20 per litre.The increase in fuel prices has affected consumers nationwide, with rates going up in almost all parts of the country.
Despite the repeated hikes, some consumers expressed support for the government’s decision. One customer said, “It is okay. Whatever the government needs to do to save the country should be done. This has happened because of the Israel war.”
The continuous rise in fuel prices is expected to impact transportation costs and the prices of essential commodities in the coming days.
