Agartala, 13th October 2025: A road accident took place today at around 1 PM near Ramthakur Ashram on Thana Road in Kailashahar leaving the vehicle of a pediatrician from Unakoti district hospital severely damaged.
The incident took place when Dr. Sanjana Ghosh, a well-known child specialist had parked her private vehicle bearing registration number TR01BS-0720 by the roadside and stepped away briefly. During this time, a gas-laden truck bearing registration number TR01AH-1856 reportedly lost control while attempting a tight turn and rammed into the rear of Dr. Ghosh’s stationary car. The collision caused significant damage to the front section and wheel area of the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses claim the car was properly parked at the time of the accident and allege that the truck was being maneuvered recklessly. The impact sparked immediate concern among locals, prompting swift action from Kailashahar police, who arrived at the scene and seized the truck.
However, both parties have refrained from accepting responsibility. The truck driver contends that the car suddenly turned toward the road, leading to the crash. In contrast, Dr. Ghosh’s representatives maintain that the vehicle was stationary and the accident was solely due to the truck driver’s negligence.
A police official confirmed that the accident took place within 100 meters of the Kailashahar police station. Authorities have launched an investigation and assured that appropriate legal steps will follow based on preliminary findings.
Meanwhile, residents have voiced growing frustration over reckless driving in the area, calling on the administration to enforce stricter traffic surveillance and regular monitoring to prevent such incidents.
