Gournagar VC praised for development drive beyond party lines

Date:

Agartala, 14th April 2026:   A rare example of cross-party cooperation has emerged in Kailashahar subdivision’s Gournagar RD Block, where a local development initiative is drawing widespread appreciation. Vice Chairman of Gournagar Panchayat Samiti, Mohammad Badruzzaman, has led the brick-soling of a key road in Tilagaon Gram Panchayat, a move that has already won positive response from residents.

The project carries symbolic weight. In the last panchayat elections, the BJP fielded a candidate, wife of Nadir Ali in Ward No. 2 of Tilagaon Gram Panchayat. Though she lost to a Congress nominee, political differences have been set aside in favor of public interest. The road leading to Nadir Ali’s house, long neglected despite repeated demands, is now being repaired through a joint effort by Gournagar Panchayat Samiti and Tilagaon Gram Panchayat.

Local residents, who had expressed frustration over years of inaction, welcomed the initiative. “A long-cherished dream is finally becoming reality. We are truly grateful,” said Nadir Ali in an exclusive interview. He lauded Vice Chairman Badruzzaman, Tilagaon Gram Panchayat Deputy Chief Ahiduzzaman, and Kailashahar Block Youth Congress President Shahajan Mia Tarek for their roles in the effort.

Community members agree that such development work, rising above political divides, sets a genuine example of public service. They believe it will pave the way for further positive change in the region.
