Agartala, 10th December 2024: The State Government has decided to create and fill up 498 posts in the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Industry and Commerce Department.
Addressing a press conference, Tripura Cabinet Spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said that a cabinet meeting, held under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, took the decisions.
“In today’s meeting, we have decided to create and fill up 161 vacancies in 28 different categories of technical posts under the Health and Family Welfare Department to improve hospital emergency services. These posts will be distributed across various hospitals, starting from CHCs and PHCs to District Hospitals, to ensure smooth functioning,” he said.
He elaborated on the posts to be filled: 8 posts of Physiotherapist, 31 posts of Radio Therapy Technician, 4 posts of Dental Technician, 14 posts of ECG Technician, 4 posts of Computer Technician, 29 posts of Radiographer, 9 posts of Junior Store Keeper, 1 post of Prosthetist and Orthotic Technician, 2 posts of Speech Therapist, 1 post of Cataloger, 1 post of Rehabilitation Assistant, 7 posts of OT Assistant, 6 posts of Dresser, 3 posts of Ward Master, 19 posts of Ophthalmic Assistant, 6 posts of Plaster Technician, 1 post of Carpenter, 1 post of Library Assistant, 1 post of Junior Librarian, 1 post of Multi Rehabilitation Worker, 2 posts of Audio Visual Technician, and others.
“All these posts have been created and will be filled up by the respective department. Earlier, we had to create posts and seek permission from the Finance Department for recruitment, but now we’ve decided on this in one go,” the Minister said.
Chowdhury also mentioned that the cabinet has approved the creation and filling up of 96 Group C posts in different categories under the Industry and Commerce Department.
“These posts include Extension Officer, Field Assistant, Senior Instructor, Senior Instructor (Non-Engineering), Store Keeper, and Driver. The decision regarding examinations for these posts is yet to be taken. Additionally, the cabinet has approved the creation and filling up of 241 Lower Division Clerk (Ministerial) posts under the Health Department to improve the administrative functioning of various health care institutions across the state. The JRBT will be asked to conduct the examinations, or the department itself will handle it,” he said.
The Minister further informed that 6,067 Special Executive Posts will see their salaries increased from Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000. However, recruitment for these posts has not yet been completed, and the process is in its final stages.
