Government to recruit  1,566 teachers, 198 Junior Engineers & 112 special educators: Sushanta Chowdhury

Agartala, 29th November 2024:  In a significant move to strengthen the education and other sectors, the Tripura government has decided to recruit a total of 1,566 undergraduate and graduate teachers through the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT). This announcement was made by Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury during a press conference at the Secretariat here on Friday following the state cabinet meeting on Thursday last.

Minister Chowdhury revealed that out of the total recruitments, 1,099 undergraduate teachers and 467 graduate teachers will be appointed in various schools across the state. “This decision aims to address the shortage of teaching staff in our schools and improve the quality of education,” he stated.

In addition to the recruitment of teachers, the state cabinet has approved the hiring of 112 special educators for 125 Vidyajyoti schools. “The inclusion of special educators is a significant step towards providing inclusive education and catering to the needs of all students,” Minister Chowdhury emphasized.

Further expanding on the recruitment drive, Minister Chowdhury announced the hiring of 151 personnel in the prison department. “This recruitment will strengthen the prison department and ensure better management and security within our correctional facilities,” he noted.

Moreover, the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) will oversee the recruitment of 198 junior engineers. “The addition of junior engineers is crucial for the infrastructure development of the state. These positions will play a vital role in various public works projects,” Minister Chowdhury added.
