He outlined ongoing development activities spanning 20 urban bodies, including Agartala Municipal Corporation, with a particular emphasis on infrastructure enhancement, especially in road development.

Acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on the development of the Northeastern region through the Act East Policy, Chief Minister Saha affirmed the pivotal role of the region in the nation’s progress. He lauded the impact of the diamond model, implemented under the Prime Minister’s directives, which has significantly improved the state’s communication infrastructure, including the expansion of national highways.

Providing a glimpse into the modernization efforts in Agartala city, Chief Minister Saha highlighted key projects such as the construction of multi-level car parking and the rapid progress in the light house project, aimed at providing affordable housing solutions. Additionally, he shared significant strides made in housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with approximately 3.3 lakh houses completed out of the sanctioned 4 lakh houses.

Emphasizing the government’s focus on women’s empowerment and healthcare accessibility, Chief Minister Saha underscored the proliferation of self-help groups led by women, with over 550,000 women actively involved. He also highlighted the launch of initiatives like the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana, aimed at extending healthcare benefits to the state’s populace.

Echoing the sentiments of Chief Minister Saha, AMC Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta praised the transformative impact of developmental initiatives spearheaded by the current government. She emphasized the long-awaited fulfillment of the local community’s dream for the development and beautification of the pond in Rishi Colony, symbolizing the government’s steadfast commitment to holistic progress.

The foundation stone laying ceremony not only marked a milestone in infrastructure development but also underscored the government’s resolve to prioritize the welfare and progress of its citizens, particularly those in marginalized communities.
