Governor Calls for Greater Public Awareness Against Drug Abuse

Agartala, 18th July 2026 :Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Saturday stressed that building a drug-free India is not merely a government slogan but a vital national mission for safeguarding the country’s future.

Addressing a drug awareness camp organised by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education at MBB College in Agartala, the Governor highlighted Tripura’s vulnerability due to its international borders on three sides, which have contributed to an increase in drug trafficking.

He appreciated the department’s efforts to create awareness among the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and called for collective participation in the fight against narcotics.

The programme was also attended by MBB College Principal Arjun Gop and other dignitaries.
